Théâtre de la Toupine



The Toupine Company has been exploring the multiple facets of live theatre through the production and organisation of events in Haute Savoie since 1977. Its main domain of activity lies in street theatre, music, comedy, parades, theatre with objects, puppetry and theatre for children. The Toupine theatre has 36 years’ worth of original production with: “Le Pays du Silence”, ” Zotrezan”, “Sens dessous dessus”, ” Un jour la nuit”, “Il était deux fois”, “Ceci cela et caetera”, ” Les frères Topolino”, “Et après… ?”, “Kikipik”, “Les Tons chromés”, “Noirmatou”, “Attention les œufs!”, ” Coucou Bégru !”, “Emois et moi”, ” Histoire en sac”, “La Vache !!!”, ” Felicia Catus”, “Rigobert, peut-etre…”, ” Les Tronçonnettes”, “Les Champignons”, “Méfy, méfie-toi”, “Bestiaire Alpin”, “Un Vache de Manège et son orgameuh” et “La Cabane de Jardin”. As such, the Toupine theatre today has more than 8950 representations across the globe to its name, and no less than 2900 participations in international festivals: Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, the United Kingdom, Morocco, Russia, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Croatia, Scotland, Luxemburg, Japan, Korea, Sweden, Austria, Canada… La Toupine, also stands for production, creation, art direction, organisation of events and festivals such as Au Bonheur des Momes, Le Fabuleux Village ou la légende des flottins, Boule de Notes, Maxill’Art, Bonjour l’hiver, Billes de Bois, Place aux Marmots, Les jeudis Rire…

A squared carousel that spin round and round take 10 toddlers onto an imaginary whirling garden.

« Un Vache de Manège et son Orgameuh » (The cow-go-round and its mooh organ) – production 2010

The entire family discover the world of alpine pasture while children climb on the less than ordinary cows.

Typical alpine animals, sculpted in driftwood, take children and parents on a journey.
